NUVOC VOLLEYBALL CLUB EDINBURGH

NUVOC Volleyball Club, Edinburgh is one of the Capitals largest clubs and has been on the go now for over 30 years. NUVOC currently has 8 volleyball teams playing in competitive volleyball leagues in Scoltand. A host of volleyball coaches allows the club to quickly develop novice players into competent competitors with a bit of fun thrown in for good measure.

Volleyball training Sept-Dec: outwith our team training we have introduced a recreational session on a Thursday evening between 7pm-8pm at the Crags Sports Centre . A small participation fee is required.

Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear – How the Women NEARLY (note Gentlemen, nearly) Snatched Defeat from the Jaws of Victory…..

After problems finding a venue (thanks Gerry for getting us one!) and then the Div 3 Mens match being cancelled by the opposition (P3 on a roll – 3 matches in a row now !), we had a bad feeling about this match……. Totally justified in the end.

That’s it – done and dusted for another year (or two! - it was a bit stressful) and despite the precarious run up to it (you wouldn’t believe the shenanigans going on behind the scenes!) it was another successful evening.

Womens Cup - Match Report

North Grampian – NUVOC… road trip up north We set off at 10.30 for a loooooooooooong journey up north where we were determined to give NG a fight for the cup game victory. Winter had kicked in and it was a lovely snowy landscape we drove through.

Genuine five setters all round for the NUVOC teams who were playing on Saturday. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in both mens division one and two while the women very nearly threw away a valuable three points in women division two.

District League - Sunday 9 November

We now have five confirmed teams for the league. They are Hornets,NUVOC 90, Peebles, Jets and Edinburgh University. Heriot Watt have not returned my emails and so I will have to rule them out.

Both halls are booked from 11am, but it will take a while to get the nets up. I have got Peebles playing in the drill hall first to allow them to set the net up (as only Wattie knows how!).
